'The dance between fragility and strength, as revealed through drawing' , 2025
Ink, gesso, charcoal, graphite and pastel on thick edge canvas
121.5 × 121.5cm
This artwork slowly formed as I added marks to the canvas using wet materials like ink in combination with found objects such as misteltoe. The marks were created by-chance, using a combination of gentle gestures like rolling, tapping, or heavy gestures such as whipping. Gestures were chosen by how felt at the time, emotionally. Nevertheless, this artwork is exciting and dynamic. Profound lines and blue pastel combine to create an artwork that is striking. The sense of this artwork feels masculine even though I, the creator, am female. I think this highlights strength in femininity, but also considers that our emotions can be androgynous.
The energy of this artworks promotes clarity, activeness and prosperity. It would be perfect for a space where one requires strength, like an office or reception area.
The work is signed at the bottom right corner.
